I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! With the warm weather upon us, I would like to remind residents to take advantage of the pools and splash pads located throughout the City. Here’s what’s happening in New Haven: Music on the Green Don’t miss the last concert of this summer’s Music on the Green Concert Series. Jeffrey Osborne will be the headlining act. The opening act begins at 6 p.m. and Jeffrey Osborne will take the stage at 7 p.m. Mayor’s Night Out Mayor’s Night Out will take place this Wednesday, July 22nd at Wilbur Cross High School, 181 Mitchell Drive at 7 p.m. Join the heads of the City’s departments and agencies and me to discuss issues that impact Wards 1, 9, 10, 19, 20, 21 and 22. Lewis Street Splash Pad I invite residents to join me on Wednesday, July 29th at 5 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the Lewis Street splash pad. The splash pad is located on Lewis Street and Front Street. 2009 Youth Walk The 2009 Youth Walk will be held on Thursday, July 30th on the New Haven Green starting at 9:30 AM with registration, welcome and warm-up activities; followed by the Youth Walk and ending with lunch and fun activities for the youth through 1 PM. The Youth Walk is a collaborative fund-raising event where 500 to 800 children and youth walk laps around the lower New Haven Green to raise funds for their favorite youth-serving organizations; with pledges coming from their neighbors, friends and family members. The tournament will be held from August 21st-August 29th. Please visit www.pilotpentennis.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
